I’ve been in the Hair Industry for over nine years, having owned my own salon for the last two and a half. I have recently made the big (maybe crazy) decision to sell everything, buy a caravan and go completely mobile with my business! After travelling around the world, it’s time to see what amazing and beautiful things Australia has to offer, so why not continue to be creative along the way. Styling is my passion, especially for weddings, it is so rewarding to see a bride glow on what will be one of her most memorable days. My attention to detail and passion for styling allows me to create looks that accentuate my bride’s natural features, making them feel their best self. My goal is to help people understand what they really want, then I work with them to achieve exactly that - and I won’t stop until it’s perfect! Whether it be styling for a wedding, an event, a photoshoot, or even some simple head shots, being completely mobile means I am able to come to you, literally anywhere a caravan can go!.
Why do I love styling for weddings?
Well, I guess I just love weddings in general, who doesn't!
Weddings and celebrations bring out something in people you don’t often encounter in everyday life. As much as each celebration is unique and beautiful in its own way, they all capture the same emotions of finding pure happiness. I love witnessing the laughter, the tears, meeting new people and ultimately, I am always honoured to be involved in so many love stories.
Unlike most that enter the Hair and Beauty Industry, I wasn’t yet sold on high maintenance hair and fake lashes, to be honest being a hairdresser wasn’t even on my radar! I have a very mathematical brain with a creative flare which was pointing me in a completely different direction to where I have now ended up. But in saying that, I believe I am absolutely where I am meant to be! After attempting to knuckle down at University I knew my heart wasn’t fully in it. I ended up back in my hometown of Toowoomba where I like to say I ‘fell’ into an apprentice role at a well know salon in town. I went on to be awarded Apprentice of the Year for SEQ after accelerating through my apprenticeship completing it early due to my “natural flare”. I have since won numerous photographic and live model awards, I was also invited to be a part of ghd’s Black Label team in Brisbane. One of my greatest achievements was taking out first place at the regional World Skills Competition, then going on to place eight in Australia competing in Perth at a National level (where at this stage I was still only a second-year apprentice).
People often describe me as a bubbly and energetic personality, I think that is probably an understatement. I’ve always been the adventurous type, my thirst for travel really kicked in when I took a brief hiatus in 2017 moving across the world to work and travel for 18 months. Now after being back in my hometown of Toowoomba running my boutique salon, that adventurous itch definitely has me scratching! So, I decided to sell everything, buy a caravan, and combine my two passions – travel and hair styling. Because, why not? As Covid has limited overseas travel, more and more people are choosing to holiday, travel and celebrate at home in Australia, and so am I. My business is completely mobile, meaning I am able to come to you, literally anywhere from the mountains to the sea! My aim is to make your styling experience as stress-free as possible. By coming to you, it allows me to make you feel comfortable, supported, and relaxed on your special day.
Although I was never really quite sure of what direction I was going to go in, I have always been very certain about one thing… making people feel good about themselves. There’s a little saying, “Look good, feel good!” If I can just make someone feel nice and feel confident in themselves, then my work is done. This makes what I do far more than just a job, it is my passion.
I HATE spam as well
(tinned meat AND crappy emails!) so I will only be sending through snippets of events I've worked on, gorgeous inspo pics and upcoming travel dates.
